Billy Shaw
Billy Shaw lived a very active life alongside his spouse, doing his own yard work, driving, and walking with only a cane for assistance. After developing swelling, Billy sought medical treatment, beginning with a series of outpatient visits. Ultimately, Billy was admitted to a local short-term acute care hospital for treatment.
A back injury left Billy without feeling in the area below his lower back. This loss of sensation resulted in Billy developing a stage IV pressure ulcer. In need of intensive inpatient rehabilitation, Billy began researching his options for the next phase of his recovery. After reading all the positive reviews for Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Amarillo, he determined that Vibra was the right place for him and transferred to the rehab hospital.
Billy credits the therapy department at Vibra with pushing him to get better each day, particularly thanking Rich (physical therapy) and Krista (occupational therapy) for their hard work. He noted how the medical staff helped him get through his therapy sessions by providing good pain management, as well as thanking the kitchen staff for nourishing him with quality food that offered the nutrition to help him recover.
“I’m looking forward to getting back home with my spouse and returning to my prior level of function,” Billy added.
