Linda Thompson
Linda Thompson woke up in the middle of the night experiencing abdominal pain. She called 911, and an ambulance arrived to transport her to Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital. At the hospital, doctors diagnosed Linda with a perforated stomach and a hiatal hernia.
Next, Linda underwent a robotic laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair with gastroplexi. After the procedure, she was placed on antibiotics, couldn’t feed herself or walk, and had difficulty standing. Linda needed an inpatient rehabilitation stay before she could safely return home. She chose Vibra Rehabilitation Hospital of Amarillo for the next phase of her recovery. Linda’s husband had been a recent patient and made a full recovery. Additionally, friends echoed the recommendation to choose Vibra.
Before her hospitalization, Linda lived an active life at home with her husband. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events whenever possible and being with her husband in their yard, where he often worked.
At Vibra, Linda found a supportive team that took a personal interest in her recovery. “The motivation I received from therapy services was the biggest factor in my recovery,” Linda noted. “I also found it very helpful that they provided me with a schedule so I knew when to expect my therapy sessions. One particular person who stood out was John in therapy services for being so understanding and patient, and nursing for being kind and prompt.” Linda also complimented food services for the tasteful food and for always bringing her the correct order.
